The Glue Crew
(Helping me, helping you!)
Kitchener Branch

Help Children Thrive! Make a Difference!

Our group of artisans are comprised of 5th and 6th graders from Smithson Public School. Our literacy buddies from the Cambridge branch (Alison Park)
will also be running the same company. We have chosen to use the name they have come up with. It is very exciting to share our learning and ideas together.

All proceeds go towards Feed the Children, as well as our combined end of the year trip.

Below are samples of our products! Each earring, the packaging and magnets will be handmade by an artisan of Grade 5/6. This is truly a one of a kind!

The Glue Crew

The Glue Crew was founded in October 2011.  Our sole purpose is to help others in need and our profits will be split between Feed the Children (global) and our literacy buddies from a school that is in need (local).  As a class we will be creating and manufacturing products that we will then sell all year. We have created various types of earrings and magnets to sell which will be revealed at the Fall Fun Fair.  Throughout the year will we add to what we manufacture with a limited time product (ex., funky light switches, necklaces etc,).  The class will be responsible for creating commercials, posters, announcements, persuasive letters to the community, written responses to complaints etc,. The potential to align this project with the curriculum expectations are endless.  Students will have a chance to experience first hand what is required to run and sustain a business. As a class we look forward to helping our friends locally and globally, while providing real life math, language, drama etc, connections.

If you would like to help us expand our business please send in the following:
-         old maps that are not laminated (ex, maps of Kitchener, surrounding areas)
-         buttons in pairs of two
-         HodgePodge
-         magnets from the dollar store, large and small ones

-         small and large jems (the ones pictured above I bought from Michaels they were $2.00 for a large bag, can also find them at the dollar store)
- earring backings, studs/clips (Michaels $5.00)

Thank you for your ongoing support in your child's learning.

If you own a business or know of a place where we can sell our products (donations), please contact us below.  We will also be looking for some professionals to come in and talk to us about how we can run our company effectively.  If you fit this criteria, please let us know!
